JXTA (Brendon J. Wilson)

Discover the newest paradigm in computing, peer-to-peer (P2P), and use the JXTA platform's strength to turn your applications into peer-aware, collaborative tools.

JXTA technology is a collection of open source, peer-to-peer protocols that enable peer-to-peer communication and collaboration between any connected device on the network, including a cell phone, PDA, PC, and server.

A multi-dimensional or extended web has emerged as a result of the network's content explosion and the existence of millions of connected devices. Both on the network's edge and in the "deep web," content can be found.

JXTA technology enables the development of fresh, cutting-edge network apps that provide full access to the material on the enlarged web. This book explains the protocols and how to use them as an implementation guide.
