The Art of Prolog: Advanced Programming Techniques (Leon S. Sterling, et al.)

This book, which is written for readers with varying degrees of programming experience, represents a change from the current literature, which focuses primarily on tiny programming examples that need further explanation to be extended to complete programming projects.

It provides a collection of eight programming projects, each with a different application, and demonstrates how a Prolog program was developed to solve the application. This demonstrates how to build and arrange modest to large Prolog systems. These include creating a molecular biology database, creating a natural language from blueprints, and streaming data analysis, all the way up to straightforward learning software.

Prolog is distinctive because it necessitates a distinctive approach to computer programming in general. It is somewhat out of date because it doesn't cover all the most recent advancements in Prolog/AI research, but no other Prolog books offer the same level of fundamental knowledge that it does. Purchase this one to serve as a sturdy base, and then add to it with future purchases.
