Quantum Computing: Progress and Prospects (National Academies Press)

A new paradigm of computing is based on quantum mechanics, a branch of physics that studies the behavior of extremely small (quantum) particles.

This book introduces quantum computing, discusses its special properties and limitations, and evaluates the viability and ramifications of building a working quantum computer that can solve issues in the real world.

It takes into account the necessary hardware and software, quantum algorithms, the forces advancing quantum computing and quantum devices, benchmarks connected to pertinent use cases, the time and resources needed, and how to calculate the likelihood of success.
