Human physiology, the study of how a healthy body functions, is in charge of explaining how the body's many systems operate.

This textbook offers a basic description of how the human body functions, making an effort to connect the body's various systems and explain their interdependencies. Homeostasis and how the body maintains equilibrium within each system serve as a framework for the book. This is meant to be the first chapter in a college-level course on physiology.
