Grid Computing - Technology and Applications, Widespread Coverage and New Horizons (Soha Maad)

Mid-to-late 1990s saw the beginning of grid research, which has its roots in distributed and high-performance computing.

The Grid's significance was quickly recognized by national and international research and development authorities, who accorded it a top priority on their research and development agenda. The Grid has developed from solving data and computationally hard problems to tackling large-scale scientific initiatives, tying together enterprises along the supply chain, and becoming a World Wide Grid interwoven into our daily routine activities.

This book describes the enormous potential, ongoing strength, and extensive global adoption of Grid computing. It provides an overview of recent developments in the subject and chronicles the development of particular Grid applications. The book demonstrates the extensive international coverage and reveals the Grid's future possibilities.
