Dr. Michael de Smith studied at universities in the UK and Canada where he gained BSc degrees in each mathematics and Geography, followed by way of an MA and Ph.D., each in spatial evaluation. Dr de Smith is a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society and a Fellow of the Royal Geographic Society. in addition to his educational paintings Dr de Smith is a software clothier and has been CEO of numerous industrial software engineering and services businesses.
