This thorough and interesting textbook covers all the fundamental concepts and methods of signal processing, from the basic ideas of signals and systems theory to practical applications.

Students learn about the mathematical foundations of Fourier transforms the fundamentals of sampling, interpolation, approximation, and compression, as well as the strong underpinnings of contemporary signal processing.

The authors go on practical issues and obstacles to using these tools as well as how to modify them to get around issues with localization, finiteness, and uncertainty as well as processing costs.

There are more than 220 worked examples and over 160 homework problems that are intended to test and advance students' knowledge of the foundations of signal processing. It is supplemented with a wealth of online learning tools, such as Mathematica resources and interactive demonstrations.

The two volumes, Fourier and Wavelet Signal Processing and Fundamentals of Signal Processing attempt to provide the fundamental concepts of signal processing as well as the mathematical instruments and signal representational techniques. Both traditional Fourier approaches and more recent basis constructions from filter banks and multiresolution analysis wavelets are thoroughly covered. Additionally, they provide a comprehensive approach that spans fundamental mathematical concepts, base construction, and practical applications.

Some of what was novel and exotic are now basic after the dust has cleared. Our goal is to spread awareness of these novel fundamentals among more people in order to increase their influence. Thus, we offer a comprehensive view of traditional Fourier analysis of signals and systems combined with time-frequency localized structured representations and their wide range of applications.
