Exploring Lift (Derek Chen-Becker, et al)

A wonderful framework for creating engaging online applications is Lift. Lift aims to keep the general architecture simple and adaptable while making powerful techniques easily available. Because Lift allows you to concentrate on the exciting aspects of coding, developing becomes enjoyable.

The Lift Framework is investigated in detail in this book. It covers the subject swiftly while using carefully chosen, thoroughly explained examples that immediately put you at ease. You'll follow a fun Travel Auction application that explains the fundamental ideas and demonstrates architecture and development methods. A Scala crash course and tips for creating a productive coding environment are provided in useful appendices.

This book is intended for Java web developers looking for functional programming alternatives like Scala and its web framework, Lift. For web developers using Rails or Django who want something more scalable, this book is also recommended.

You'll be able to build and extend any web application you can imagine by the time you finish this book.

About the Authors
The last six years have been devoted by Marius Danciu to the architecture, design, and implementation of highly scalable server-side applications built on J(2)EE platforms. The majority of applications were built using data synchronization strategies, which in turn used nearby technologies like the SyncML OMA standard. Marius has been a contributor to the LiftWeb framework for more than a year, helping to design and implement a number of the framework's features.
