Control Engineering: An Introduction with the Use of MATLAB (Derek P. Atherton)

The fundamentals of linear single loop feedback control theory are covered in the book. In contrast to the comprehensive mathematics found in many textbooks, MATLAB plots are used to clarify the mathematical principles utilized in classical control, such as root loci, frequency response, and stability approaches.

PID control is covered in one chapter, while state variable approaches are briefly covered in another two chapters. The method chosen enables more time to be given to controller design using various techniques, to compare the outcomes, and to further evaluate the consequences of changes in plant parameters.
