This book presents a number of bioinformatics applications, reviews, and theoretical topics. The chapters were divided into two sections for ease of understanding.

The chapters in Part I are more focused on theoretical concerns and literature reviews. Chapters in Part II that focus on applications present case studies in which bioinformatics technologies are used to solve particular biological issues.

It also explains the foundation and constraints of the bioinformatics approaches and instruments that can be used to address biological issues.

About the Authors
Associate Professor Heitor S. Lopes works at the Federal University of Technology Paran (UTFPR) (Brazil). He earned a degree in Electronic Engineering from college in 1984, an MSc in Biomedical Engineering from university in 1990, and a Ph.D. in Information Sciences in 1993. (1996).
