C Programming in Linux (David Haskins)

Using a number of web development examples, this book will provide you with an intriguing insight into a robust lower-level world. The Linux operating system covers how to write and compile C programs. Operators for working with C expressions, functions and structured programming, loop statements, numeric arrays, pointers, strings, memory management, and disc files are all introduced by the author.

Because the C language is finite and hasn't changed in years, much like Latin. In the current economic context, we will require a large number of young people who are familiar with C to maintain the operation of current key systems. C is compact and sparse.

The fundamental components of Linux and Unix are built in C. The concept behind Unix was to create an operating system in C that only required a C compiler to be ported to a new architecture. In many ways, Linux is the culmination of a number of past attempts to create a PC version of Unix.

For many years, serious software workers have been required to have a working knowledge of C. With the recent rise in popularity and maturity of Open Systems, this is even more true today. The terseness and perceived difficulty of C caused it to be replaced by Java in university courses in the late 1990s, however there is a growing belief within some teaching groups that Java is not a great place for beginners to start.
