Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (Michael Smith)

The most recent techniques for designing VLSI systems are covered in detail in this comprehensive book on application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs).

The quickest, most economical, and least error-prone approach to IC design is ASIC design, which uses commercial tools and predesigned cell libraries. ASICs and ASIC-design techniques have consequently gained popularity in the industry for a variety of applications.

The programmable and semi custom ASIC kinds are both covered in the book. The fundamentals of digital logic design are covered first, along with the physical characteristics of each type of ASIC. The book then moves on to discuss ASIC logic design, including design entry, logic synthesis, simulation, and test, and physical design, including partitioning, floorplanning, placement, and routing. Everything you need to know to comprehend the design of an ASIC and everything you must do to start and finish your own design may be found here in clear, practical detail.
